Application of Kriging Model to Gear Wear Calculation under Mixed Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication
The calculation of tooth wear under mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication is very complex and requires consideration of many conditions such as load distribution in the tooth meshing zone, micro-convex elastoplastic deformation and tooth surface ...

NUMERICAL MODELING OF FRETTING WEAR [PDF]
In this paper, a review of some techniques proposed in the literature for modelling fretting wear is presented. Fretting wear occurs when surfaces are degraded and materials are removed due to a small relative oscillatory motion between two contact surfaces.

Wear Life Prediction on Unfolding Wheel of Steel Ball Detection by Using Numerical Simulation
Wear is the main failure form of unfolding wheel of steel ball, and the unfolding effect on steel ball surface will be failure when the wear of unfolding wheel achieves a certain degree.

Long-Term Wear Monitoring and Wear Prediction by Means of Wear Models
Abstract A method for monitoring and predicting fouling of heat exchangers by means of longterm wear models is described. To monitor progressive fouling, the dependencies between the poles of a second-order transfer-function, the fouling and the operation point are examined.

Efficient Sub-Modeling for Adhesive Wear in Elastic–Plastic Spherical Contacts
This paper presents a novel approach for simulating adhesive wear in elastic–plastic spherical contacts using an improved finite element sub-model. Initially, a global model with a coarse mesh identifies the potential wear region under combined normal ...

Shock Models and Wear Processes
The life distribution $H(t)$ of a device subject to shocks governed by a Poisson process is considered as a function of the probabilities $P_k$ of not surviving the first $k$ shocks. Various properties of the discrete failure distribution $P_k$ are shown to be reflected in corresponding properties of the continuous life distribution $H(t)$.
