Boundary properties of the inconsistency of pairwise comparisons in group decisions

open access: yes, 2014
This paper proposes an analysis of the effects of consensus and preference aggregation on the consistency of pairwise comparisons. We define some boundary properties for the inconsistency of group preferences and investigate their relation with different

The carbon footprint of desalination: An input-output analysis of seawater reverse osmosis desalination in Australia for 2005–2015 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This study examines greenhouse gas emissions for 2005–2015 from seawater desalination in Australia, using conventional energies. We developed a tailor-made multi-regional input-output-model. We complemented macroeconomic top-down data with plant-specific

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Assessment of health and safety solutions at a construction site

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2013
To design solutions for occupational safety at a construction site for the construction technology project, an occupational hazard was assessed. Possible solutions for occupational safety depend on the number of criteria such as hazardous factors from ...

Multiplexity and multireciprocity in directed multiplexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Real-world multi-layer networks feature nontrivial dependencies among links of different layers. Here we argue that, if links are directed, dependencies are twofold.

Selection of Head of Study Program using Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method

open access: diamondInternet of Things and Artificial Intelligence Journal
Selecting a Head of Study Program is a crucial strategic decision in education, particularly in Vocational High Schools. At the Software Engineering Study Program Vocational School Sitibanun Sigambal, Labuhanbatu, Rantau Prapat, this process becomes highly complex due to the involvement of various criteria, such as Psychotest Scores, IQ Tests ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Decision Support System for Determining Promotion Using a Combination of Entropy and Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment

open access: diamondJurnal Ilmiah FIFO
Decision-making in determining employee promotions often faces challenges due to the subjectivity of assessments. To address this issue, this research develops a decision support system by combining the Entropy method and the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS). The Entropy method is used to objectively determine the weights of criteria
