DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEIGHTED INTEGRAL MEANS

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2002
Summary: Weighted integral means over \([c,d]\) and \([a,b]\) where \([c,d]\subset [a,b]\) are compared in the current work by determining bounds for their difference in terms of a variety of norms. The bounds are obtained and involve the behaviour of at most the first derivative.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Revisiting Some Relationships Between the Weighted Spectral Mean and the Wasserstein Mean

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we introduce the 2-geometric mean and explore its connections with the spectral geometric mean and the Wasserstein mean for positive definite matrices.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Weighted power mean discrete dynamical systems: Fast convergence properties

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2006
We studied families of discrete dynamical systems obtained by using iteration functions given by weighted power mean in order to understand the role of hyperrapid convergence in nonlinear maps.

Metallicity Evolution of Damped Lyman-Alpha Galaxies

open access: yes, 2002
We have reanalyzed the existing data on Zinc abundances in damped Ly-alpha (DLA) absorbers to investigate whether their mean metallicity evolves with time.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Weighted Minimum Mean-Square Distance from Independence Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we introduce a family of semi-parametric estimators, suggested by Manski's minimum mean-square distance from independence estimator. We establish the strong consistency, asymptotic normality and consistency of bootstrap estimates of the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
