Struggles with Survey Weighting and Regression Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The general principles of Bayesian data analysis imply that models for survey responses should be constructed conditional on all variables that affect the probability of inclusion and nonresponse, which are also the variables used in survey weighting and

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

DFW: a novel weighting scheme for covariate balancing and treatment effect estimation

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
Estimating causal effects from observational data is challenging due to selection bias, which leads to imbalanced covariate distributions across treatment groups.

Maximiser la représentativité de groupes dans un échantillonnage spatial

open access: yesCybergeo, 2002
The crucial problem of representativeness of a sample when realizing a survey, is considered through getting the best chances to avoid getting cases too close to the boundaries of other groups.

Optimisation of the weighting functions of an H controller using genetic algorithms and structured genetic algorithms

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper the optimisation of the weighting functions for an H∞ controller using genetic algorithms and structured genetic algorithms is considered. The choice of the weighting functions is one of the key steps in the design of

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

UAV-Based SAR-Imaging of Objects From Arbitrary Trajectories Using Weighted Backprojection

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
Synthetic aperture radars (SARs) based on uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) are advantageous in comparison to existing airborne systems. Apart from cost, their main advantage is the flexibility of their flight path.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
