Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

In this paper an alternative approach to the classical deconvolution idea is used to obtain a new and practical method for real-time identification of unknown, time-varying forces/moments in a general class of linear (linearized) dynamics and vibration ...

Speech enhancement using weighting function based on the variance of wavelet coefficients
[[abstract]]There are few works on the problem of heavy noise corruption in wavelet-based speech enhancement. In this paper, a new method is introduced to adapt the weighting function for wavelet coefficients (WCs) in each subband.

The Localization Procedures of the Vector of Weighting Coefficients on the Set of Teaching Experts in the Tasks of Consuming [PDF]
In terms of binary relations the author analyses the task of an individual consumers’ choice on the teaching excerpts set. It is suggested to analyse the function of consumer’s value as additive reduction.

Quadratically Weighted Agreement Coefficients: Interpretations and Connections
Abstract In this study, we review interpretations and connections of chance-corrected agreement coefficients with quadratic weights, applicable when raters classify objects or subjects on an ordinal scale. Whereas correlation interpretations exist for coefficients with noninterchangeable raters, represented by Cohen’s two-rater and ...

Equivalence scales reconsidered: an empirical investigation [PDF]
Income-expenditure surveys typically provide incomes on the household level. As households can differ in size and needs, a reliable assessment of inequality in living standards, therefore, necessitates the conversion of the original heterogeneous into an

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...
