Influence of welding sequence on welding distortions in pipes [PDF]
This paper presents a three-dimensional thermo-mechanical analysis to investigate the effect of welding sequence on welding deformations in pipe-pipe joints of AISI stainless-steel type. Single-pass TIG welding with V-joint geometry in pipes having a diameter of 274 mm and a thickness of 6.2 mm is studied here.

Distortion of Laser Welded Titanium Plates
The distortion of laser welded titanium plates was assessed for different operating conditions of the laser welding device, and with different welding parameters (in terms of weld point and prewelding). In this study, Nd : YAG laser welding device was used to join the titanium plates.

Weld Distortion Control Methods and Applications of Weld Modeling [PDF]
Computational weld modeling is challenging because many of the processes of welding are highly nonlinear. Material melts and re-solidifies, very high transient thermal gradients are experienced, non-linear temperature dependent plastic straining and phase transformations can occur, among other sources of nonlinearity.
