Carya luodianensis (Juglandaceae), a new species, is described and illustrated. We combined morphological characteristics, comparative plastome analyses, and phylogenetic analysis, all of which support the recognition of C. luodianensis as a new species and highlight its evolutionary divergence within Carya.
