Wind Induced Nonlinear Response of Coupled Spar Platform
Volume 8A: Ocean Engineering, 2014The oil and gas exploration has moved from shallow water to much deeper water far off the continental shelf. Spar platforms under deep water conditions are found to be the most economical and efficient type of offshore platform. Several Spar platforms installed in the Gulf of Mexico and North Sea proves its suitability for deep water exploration ...

Wind-Induced Response of Buildings Arranged in a Group
1995Wind forces on buildings are usually dealt with considering the building in isolation. Controversely, about 80% of buildings are situated in an urban environment and hence surrounded by other buildings: the flow fields interfere with each other altering the wind loads — both static and dynamic — in comparison to the isolated case.

Wind-induced dynamic response of bridges
2004Wind loading has long played a significant role in bridge design. Some spectacular failures, such as the Tay Bridge (Scotland, 1879), or the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (Washington State, 1940) acted as a painful reminder to engineers in case they had forgotten the importance of wind loading.

Dynamic Characteristics and Wind-induced Response of a Tall Building
2016The design of tall buildings requires an accurate understanding of the expected wind loads and the resulting responses. The techniques used to estimate the wind-induced response are subject to uncertainty, which can result in unsatisfactory building performance or an over-designed structure.
