Wind-induced dynamic response of Heliostat

Renewable Energy, 2012
Abstract Large-area, glass-metal heliostats have collection areas in the range of 100 m2–200 m2. The heliostats of Solar Tower power station, with high accuracy requirements during performance, are located at open terrain or suburban terrain and they are sensitive to gust.

Rise Steel Wind-Induced Response Analysis

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Taking a rise steel as a study, study response of the structure to the dynamic characteristics under fluctuating wind load. The results showed that: deformation of structure under the fluctuating wind load is shear deformation; Structural displacement response curve is similar to the curve of the pressure time history.

Wind-Induced Response of the Solar Chimney

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
Wind-induced response was investigated on the chimney of a 100MW solar thermal power station. Firstly, dynamic characteristic of the chimney was analyzed and the first eight vibration mode shapes and frequencies were obtained. Wind velocity time-history simulation was then conducted utilizing harmonic superposition method with Fast Fourier ...

Predicting Wind-Induced Response in Hurricane Zones

Journal of the Structural Division, 1976
The procedure appropriate for regions where available wind data are representative of the strong wind climate, as is in regions where extreme winds are due mainly to large-scale weather systems. Recently a study of a major building proposed for New Orleans prompted an extension of the methods to consider effects of rare events such as hurricanes.

Wind‐Induced Response of Golden Gate Bridge

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1983
Full-scale observation data of wind-induced behaviour of the Golden Gate Bridge from a 1962 study was extensively re-examined by spectral analysis. The experimental investigation on the same bridge was also conducted using proposed taut strip bridge model with the simulation of natural wind turbulence at laboratory scale.

Wind-induced responses of Beijing National Stadium

Wind and Structures An International Journal, 2011
The wind-induced mean, background and resonant responses of Beijing National Stadium are investigated in this paper. Based on the concepts of potential and kinetic energies, the mode participation factors for the background and the resonant components are presented and the dominant modes are identified.
