Research on Longitudinal Vibration Characteristic of the Six-Cable-Driven Parallel Manipulator in FAST

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
The first adjustable feed support system in FAST is a six-cable-driven parallel manipulator. Due to flexibility of the cables, the cable-driven parallel manipulator bears a concern of possible vibration caused by wind disturbance or internal force from ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Assessment of Hydrodynamic Performance and Motion Suppression of Tension Leg Floating Platform Based on Tuned Liquid Multi-Column Damper

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
To address the unstable motion of a tension leg platform (TLP) for floating wind turbines in various sea conditions, an improved method of incorporating a tuned liquid multi-column damper (TLMCD) into the TLP foundation is proposed.

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Analysis of the Impact of Wind Speeds on Pantograph-Catenary Interactions in Electrified Highway Systems

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu
Electrified highways supply electric energy in real time to heavy trucks through overhead contact systems installed on both sides of the roadway. Interactions between these overhead contact systems and vehicle-mounted bipolar pantographs are identified ...

Dual Loop PIm PIn Control for an Aileron Positioning

open access: yesIEEE Access
Aircraft control surfaces are subjected to uncertain design parameters and time–varying external disturbances related to aerodynamic loads. This paper presents a control formulation for their positioning based on a velocity/position dual loop ...

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Coupling Effect of Waves and Currents on Dynamic Responses of a Semi-Submerged Floating Wind Turbine

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The effects of wave and current on floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) are usually treated separately without considering their inherent interaction.

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...
