Classification of acute myeloid leukemia based on multi‐omics and prognosis prediction value

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Unsupervised AML Multi‐Omics Classification System (UAMOCS) integrates genomic, methylation, and transcriptomic data to categorize AML patients into three subtypes (UAMOCS1‐3). This classification reveals clinical relevance, highlighting immune and chromosomal characteristics, prognosis, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Study of the effect of wind angles on the aerodynamic characteristics of high-speed trains subjected to a translating simulated tornado

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
The probability of high-speed trains being hit by tornadoes is increasing. Therefore, this paper studies the effect of wind angles on the aerodynamic characteristics of a high-speed train subjected to a translating simulated tornado.

Coupled Finite Volume and Finite Element Method Analysis of a Complex Large-Span Roof Structure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2017
The main goal of this paper is to present coupled Computational Fluid Dynamics and structural analysis for the precise determination of wind impact on internal forces and deformations of structural elements of a longspan roof structure. The Finite Volume

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

The Return Period Wind Speed Prediction of Beijing Urban Area Based on Short-Term Measured Wind Speed

open access: yesAtmosphere
To predict and explore the return period wind speed distribution in Beijing urban area, based on the short-term measured wind speed record, the measured independent storm peak samples are extracted and the Monte–Carlo numerical simulation method is used ...

Theory of winds in AGNs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
I present a brief review of theory of winds in active galactic nuclei (AGN). Magnetic, radiation, and thermal driving likely operate in AGN. In many cases, it is difficult to distinguish, both from observational and theoretical point of view, which of these wind driving mechanisms dominates in producing winds. Therefore, I focus on specific theoretical

How to Build a Wind Turbine: Introducing Fourth Graders to Engineering in KidWind Project [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
With colored construction paper, Styrofoam cups, coffee filters, cereal boxes, empty toilet paper rolls, and straws splayed across the desks, Mrs. McCanna’s fourth grade classroom filled with excited chatter as her students constructed small-scale wind ...
