Flow characteristics over NACA4412 airfoil at low Reynolds number

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
In this study, the flow phenomena over NACA4412 were experimentally observed at various angle of attack and Reynolds number of 25000, 50000 and 75000, respectively.

Engineering Aspects of Winds

open access: yesWind Engineers, JAWE, 1996
Various aspects are pointed out for problems related to full scale wind measurements. At first by considering the difference between meteorology and structural engineering, the accuracy of evaluation should be investigated from view points of applications.

Performance analysis of a small wind turbine mounted inside a tall building

open access: yes, 2016
Using CFD simulations, a small conventional horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) Ampair 300 was installed in a confined flow space: through-building openings embedded at different levels of a tall building. The openings were located at 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 and 5/

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Atmospheric Turbulence Effects on Wind Turbine Wakes over Two-Dimensional Hill: A Wind Tunnel Study

open access: yesEnergies
The wake behavior of wind turbines in complex terrain is influenced by the combined effects of atmospheric turbulence and terrain features, which brings challenges to wind farm power production and safety.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Winds in the Engineering Field

open access: yesWind Engineers, JAWE, 1984
This paper describes some points of wind characteristics in the engineering field and some feature of wind data obtained in routine work at each meteorological station. The characteristics of high winds in the boundary layer are examined by using the data from 213 m meteorological observation tower at Tsukuba Science City.
