Fatigue Load Estimation through a Simple Stochastic Model

open access: yesEnergies, 2014
We propose a procedure to estimate the fatigue loads on wind turbines, based on a recent framework used for reconstructing data series of stochastic properties measured at wind turbines. Through a standard fatigue analysis, we show that it is possible to

Mass‐loaded Winds

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1996
This paper explores the steady state behavior of mass-loaded winds. The topology of the critical point that results from the slowing of the wind is a function of the local slope of the mass-loading function. Mass-loading functions that increase sufficiently rapidly with radius as well as gravitational force can cause the steady state approximation to ...

Large Telescope Wind Loading [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1984
One important large telescope design study area is the dynamic image degradation caused by wind forces upon various telescope structures and optical elements. The need to establish rapid thermal equilibration with the observatory environment further complicates the wind exposure problem.

Comparison of computer codes for calculating dynamic loads in wind turbines [PDF]

open access: yes
The development of computer codes for calculating dynamic loads in horizontal axis wind turbines was examined, and a brief overview of each code was given.

From wind to loads: wind turbine site-specific load estimation with surrogate models trained on high-fidelity load databases

open access: yesWind Energy Science, 2018
. We define and demonstrate a procedure for quick assessment of site-specific lifetime fatigue loads using simplified load mapping functions (surrogate models), trained by means of a database with high-fidelity load simulations.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.
