Validating wind field models for power system impact studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
To integrate wind power into the electrical power system studies need to be made of its impact. Wind plants are stochastic in nature and this makes them differ from traditional plants. One method to model the stochastic nature of wind plants is to create

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Design of mine opposed wind speed and direction sensor

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua
In response to the current problems of high startup wind speed, complex design schemes, and inability to accurately measure the average wind speed of the entire section of the roadway using wind speed sensors, based on the principle of ultrasonic opposed

Predictive control of wind turbines by considering wind speed forecasting techniques

open access: yes, 2009
A wind turbine system is operated such that the points of wind rotor curve and electrical generator curve coincide. In order to obtain maximum power output of a wind turbine generator system, it is necessary to drive the wind turbine at an optimal rotor ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

A novel wind speed prediction approach based on wind speed fluctuation characteristic extraction and dual decomposition

open access: yesAIP Advances
The accuracy of wind speed forecasting plays a crucial role in the operation of the power grid. However, the intermittency and randomness of wind present significant challenges to the accuracy of wind speed predictions.

Wind forecasting using Principal Component Analysis

open access: yes, 2014
We present a new statistical wind forecasting tool based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA), which is trained on past data to predict the wind speed using an ensemble of dynamically similar past events.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Short-term Wind Speed Prediction Based on Wavelet Packet Decomposition and BP Neural Network

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2019
In this paper, a short-term wind speed prediction method based on BP neural network and wavelet packet decomposition was proposed to solve the problem of insufficient accuracy of wind speed prediction introduced by unstable wind speed signals.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
