Wind power plants are becoming a generally accepted resource in the generation mix of many utilities. At the same time, the size and the power rating of individual wind turbines have increased considerably.

Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Short-term wind prediction using an ensemble of particle swarm optimised FIR filters
Due to the large and increasing penetration of wind power around the world, accurate power production forecasts are required to manage power systems and wind power plants.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

A Method Based on Lorenz Disturbance and Variational Mode Decomposition for Wind Speed Prediction
Wind power is one of the most promising means of power generation. But the time-varying of wind speed is the most fundamental problem for power generation control system. Therefore, accurate wind speed prediction becomes particularly important. However,

A wind tunnel study of the mean airflow around a simple representation of a merchant ship [PDF]
An investigation has been carried out to measure mean velocities above a solid block located in a wind tunnel. A Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) system was used.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Optimal Management of a Wind/CAES Power Plant by means of Neural Network Wind Speed Forecast
Some of the major limitations of renewable energy sources are represented by their low power density and intermittent nature, largely depending upon local site and unpredictable weather conditions. These problems concur to increase the unit costs of wind

A two-component transport model for solar wind fluctuations: Waves plus quasi-2D turbulence
We present a model for the transport of solar wind fluctuations, based on the assumption that they can be well-represented using two distinct components: a quasi-2D turbulence piece and a wave-like piece.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic
