Angular Wire Coating by Drawdown of an Extruded Melt
Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 1999An approximate analytical solution for tube-coating wire with a highly viscous Newtonian fluid is developed (high Froude and capillary numbers). Acute extrusion angles for the annular slit are considered. We obtain expressions for the melt cone shape, coating thickness, contact length, contact pressure, drawing force, apparent contact angle, and ...

Mass productivity of water based and hot melt wire enamels and enameled wire
1979 EIC 14th Electrical/Electronics Insulation Conference, 1979This paper deals with problems related to mass productivity of “water based” and “hot melt” type polyester wire enamels and enameled wires, the development of which is strongly desired to cope with the problem of environmental pollution. In the present investigation, an electric radiant type oven of a commercial scale was built so as to study the ...

Observation of Melting Wire Solder for Sleeve Soldering
Volume 2A: Advanced Manufacturing, 2015Wire solders usually contain flux and it can remove an oxide film on the metal surface chemically. The influence of the flux is important in soldering. Recently, the new packaging technology was developed, it is called Sleeve soldering. It is a kind of through-hole technology.

Abstract A rapidly solidified wire of Fe–Cu–Si–B alloy with a macroscopically separated structure was formed by the arc-melt-type melt-extraction method. A unique core-wire/surface-cover-layer structure composed of core Fe–Si–B-based amorphous alloy and cover Cu crystal was formed by liquid phase separation during rapid quenching of thermal melt.

Melting rate of electrode wire in arc welding
Russian Engineering Research, 2010A mathematical model is proposed for the melting rate of electrode wire during the arc welding of low-alloy steel in protective gases. The discrepancy with experimental data is no more than 4%.

An Analytical Model for Filler Wire Heating and Melting during Wire Feed Laser Deposition
Key Engineering Materials, 2019Additive technologies, in particular, wire-feed laser deposition, can significantly reduce the production cycle of manufacturing large-sized parts or parts of complex shape due to partial or complete elimination of technological operations such as casting, machining and welding.

Wire Design Influence on the Melting Behavior in the High elocity Combustion Wire Spraying Process
Advanced Engineering Materials, 2006Thermal spray processes using wire feedstock are advantageous in respect of the achievable deposition rate and efficiency. However, the coating material needs to be provided in wire shape, which limits the material choice significantly. Cored wires permit large expansion of the applicable material spectrum.
