Nutraceutical Benefits of Anchomanes difformis Rhizome and Its Effects on Blood Glucose and Hepatorenal Function in Normoglycemic Rats

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Scientific analysis of Anchomanes difformis roots confirms significant nutraceutical potential, containing high levels of carbohydrates, proteins, and essential minerals. Phytochemical screening revealed antioxidants such as phenols and flavonoids, and although the extracts effectively lowered plasma glucose, safety testing showed dose‐dependent risks.

Neuroprotective effect of normal and modified mesenchymal stem cell‐derived exosomes by mitigating Alzheimer's‐related oxidative and inflammatory damage via Nrf2/HO‐1 in SH‐SY5Y cells

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView.
Exosome therapy shows promise in Alzheimer's disease. This study compared normal and modified exosomes from AD brain extract‐treated MSCs in STZ‐induced SH‐SY5Y cells. Exosomes improved neuronal viability, reduced oxidative stress and inflammation, and activated Nrf2/HO‐1 signaling.

Mesotheliomas induced by sterigmatocystin in Wistar rats.

open access: yesGan, 1978
Male Wistar rats were given repeated injections of sterigmatocystin (stg) and related compounds into the peritoneal cavity once a week for 23 weeks. Only stg alone produced mesothelioma in 20 of 40 rats given a total dose of 20 approximately 25 mg, while no mesotheliomas were found in rats injected O-acetyl-stg (AcO-stg) and dihydro-stg. There were two

Assessment of Gold‐Mediated Male Reproductive Dysfunction in Male WISTAR Rats Through Sperm Analysis and Testosterone Measurement

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gold has been used for centuries in both ornamental and medicinal contexts. More recently, gold compounds, containing ions or nanoparticles, have attracted attention for their anti‐inflammatory, anticancer, and diagnostic applications. Therefore, concerns about systemic toxicity and biodistribution have prompted investigations into the ...

Subchronic Exposure to Arsenic and Nickel Triggers Nitrosative Stress and Histological Alterations in the Rat Liver

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental exposure to heavy metals poses a threat to human health. Several studies documented harmful effects on the liver after arsenic and nickel exposure at concentrations beyond permissible limits. Nevertheless, the impact of a simultaneous exposure to both elements on hepatic biochemistry and histology remains unelucidated. Therefore,

Differences on the Natural Course of Chronic Kidney Disease Progression, Induced by 5/6 Renal Ablation Model in Three Different Rat Stains: Wistar, Lewis, and Fischer 344

open access: yesLife
Almost 10% of the global population suffers from chronic kidney disease (CKD). The inexistence of a therapeutic to restore renal function motivates the scientific community to search for new treatments.

Protective Role of Polydatin Against Vancomycin‐Induced Lung Toxicity via Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress, Apoptosis, and Ferroptosis Pathways

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate whether polydatin (Poly) could eliminate the harmful effects of vancomycin (VCM) on the lungs of rats. Rats were administered VCM (200 mg/kg) and Poly (50 mg/kg), both separately and in combination, for a duration of 7 days.

The Effects of Angiotensin Receptor Neprilysin Inhibitor on Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Doxorubicin‐Mediated Cardiomyopathy‐Associated Heart Failure Model in Rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT One of the most serious complications associated with the use of the chemotherapeutic agent doxorubicin (DOX) is cardiomyopathy. Although cardioprotective drugs such as angiotensin receptor‐neprilysin inhibitors (ARNI) are used to prevent cardiomyopathy in DOX patients, no studies have reported the relationship between ARNI and endoplasmic ...

The TRPM2–PARP‐1 Axis Involvement in Bisphenol A and Nonylphenol‐Induced Ferroptosis in Trigeminal Ganglion Cells

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental contaminants like bisphenol A (BPA) and nonylphenol (NP) are recognized neurotoxicants; however, the molecular mechanisms underlying their impact on sensory ganglia, specifically the trigeminal ganglion (TG), remain critically underexplored.

Passive Immunization of Anti bZP3 (Zone Pellucida3) in Wistar Rat (Rattus novergicus) and Mouse (Mus musculus)

open access: yesMedia Peternakan, 2012
This study was aimed at comparing the influence of anti bZP3’s passive immunization on anti-anti bZP3’s titer and pregnancy level on Wistar rats and mice. This study employed factorial design experiment with completely randomized design. The first factor
