Analysis of temperature and altitude effects on the Global Energy Balance during WLTC

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engine Research, 2021
In this work, the Global Energy Balance (GEB) of a 1.6 L compression ignition engine is analyzed during WLTC using a combination of experimental measurements and simulations, by means of a Virtual Engine. The energy split considers all the relevant energy terms at two starting temperatures (20°C and 7°C) and two altitudes (0 and 1000 m).

Centralized model‐predictive cooperative and adaptive cruise control of automated vehicle platoons in urban traffic environments

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, Volume 17, Issue 11, Page 2154-2170, November 2023., 2023
This paper presents a linear model predictive control (MPC) algorithm for the optimization of velocity trajectories of vehicles in a platoon in an urban traffic environment. A novel centralized approach is implemented to optimize the total energy consumption of all vehicles while improving traffic efficiency.
