Evaluation of Croatian Word Embeddings

open access: yes, 2017
Croatian is poorly resourced and highly inflected language from Slavic language family. Nowadays, research is focusing mostly on English. We created a new word analogy corpus based on the original English Word2vec word analogy corpus and added some of the specific linguistic aspects from Croatian language.

Micro‐ and Nano‐Bots for Infection Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents a strategic vision for integrating micro‐ and nanobots in the pipeline for infection diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. To develop these robots as a practical solution for infection management, their design principles are clarified based on their propulsion mechanisms and then categorized infection management domains based on ...

FRAGE: Frequency-Agnostic Word Representation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Continuous word representation (aka word embedding) is a basic building block in many neural network-based models used in natural language processing tasks. Although it is widely accepted that words with similar semantics should be close to each other in the embedding space, we find that word embeddings learned in several tasks are biased towards word ...

Word embeddings for the software engineering domain

open access: yesProceedings of the 15th International Conference on Mining Software Repositories, 2018
The software development process produces vast amounts of textual data expressed in natural language. Outcomes from the natural language processing community have been adapted in software engineering research for leveraging this rich textual information; these include methods and readily available tools, often furnished with pre-trained models.

Simultaneous Isotropic Omnidirectional Hypersensitive Strain Sensing and Deep Learning‐Assisted Direction Recognition in a Biomimetic Stretchable Device

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Omnidirectional strain sensing is crucial in healthcare monitoring, human motion detection, and human‐machine interfaces. By mimicking the 3D structure of human fingers, this work introduces a novel heterogeneous substrate incorporating the involute of a circle which enables the device to achieve isotropic omnidirectional hypersensitive strain sensing ...

Deconstructing Word Embeddings

open access: yes, 2019
A review of Word Embedding Models through a deconstructive approach reveals their several shortcomings and inconsistencies. These include instability of the vector representations, a distorted analogical reasoning, geometric incompatibility with linguistic features, and the inconsistencies in the corpus data.

Training Temporal Word Embeddings with a Compass

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2019
Temporal word embeddings have been proposed to support the analysis of word meaning shifts during time and to study the evolution of languages. Different approaches have been proposed to generate vector representations of words that embed their meaning during a specific time interval.

An accurate transformer-based model for transition-based dependency parsing of free word order languages

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences
Transformer models are the state-of-the-art in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and the core of the Large Language Models (LLMs). We propose a transformer-based model for transition-based dependency parsing of free word order languages.
