Effect of Working Fluid on Characteristics of Organic Rankine Cycle with Medium Temperature Geothermal Water

open access: yesEnergies
The total installed geothermal power plant capacity at year-end 2023 was 16,335 MW, while the forecast for the installed capacity in 2025 is 19,331 MW. In Croatia, several medium-temperature geothermal resources (geothermal water) with temperatures from ...

Potential performance improvement using a reacting gas (nitrogin tetroxide) as the working fluid in a closed Brayton cycle [PDF]

open access: yes
The results of an analysis to estimate the performance that could be obtained by using a chemically reacting gas (nitrogen tetroxide) as the working fluid in a closed Brayton cycle are presented.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Performance Analysis of a Solar–Air Source Absorption Heat Pump with Different Working Fluids

open access: yesEnergies
A solar–air source absorption heat pump (SAAHP), which mainly consists of a solar collector, a fan coil, and an absorption heat pump equipped with a gas-fired combustor, was proposed for water heating. This system runs in either SD (solar-energy-driving)

System accurately controls pressure in cryogenic tanks [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
High-resolution differential pressure transducer senses very small positive or negative pressure variations in the cryogenic tank relative to absolute reference pressure.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Modeling of Transient Heat Pipe Operation [PDF]

open access: yes
The major goal of this project is to develop mathematical models of heat pipes which can be used to predict transient behavior under normal and adverse conditions.
