Examining the effect of generative AI on students’ motivation and writing self-efficacy
The present study explores the effects of generative AI, specifically ChatGPT, in EFL classrooms on student motivation and writing efficacy. Motivation was measured through three components: Ideal L2 Self (IL2), Ought-to L2 Self (OL2), and L2 Learning ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Writing Teacher’s Second Self: Theory and Practice of Responding to Student Writing
Although rhetorical theorists such as N. Sommers (1988), C. H. Knoblauch and L. Brannon (1984), and E. M. White (1984) suggest that writing teachers insinuate clear and helpful readerpersonae in the written comments they make on student writing, this ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Toward Explaining the Transformative Power of Talk About, Around, and for Writing [PDF]
This article provides an initial approach for capturing moments of talk about, around, and for writing to explain why writing groups and writing conferences are so often considered “transformative” for the people involved. After describing the widespread

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
