Genetic diversity of Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni strains in Japan revealed by DNA fingerprinting

Journal of General Plant Pathology, 2014
Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni (Xap) strains collected from peach orchards in six areas in Japan were fingerprinted by inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR)-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and repetitive sequence-based (rep)-PCR. Although 148 strains were differentiated into four fingerprint groups (A–D), the genetic diversity among the Xap population ...

Molecular Characterization of Copper Resistance Genes from Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni

Phytopathology®
Xanthomonas arboricola pv.  pruni (XAP) causes bacterial spot in Prunus, and copper sprays have been widely used to manage this disease. Copper tolerance (≥150 µg/ml of copper sulfate pentahydrate [CSP]) is commonly found in XAP populations, but copper resistance (>200 µg/ml of CSP) has not been previously reported.

Population studies of Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni and new strategy of control in peach orchards.

2009
The population structure of Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni (Xap), the causal agent of the bacterial canker/leaf and fruit spots of stone fruits, was investigated in order to achieve a deeper insight in this taxon, thus enabling an improvement of the current diagnostic protocols and a more effective control of the disease. We confirmed the homogeneity
