The precursors of the diffusible signal factor (DSF) family signals of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris are 3-hydroxyacyl-acyl carrier protein (3-hydroxyacyl-ACP) thioesters having acyl chains of 12 to 13 carbon atoms produced by the fatty acid ...

Extracellular proteases from Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, the black rot pathogen [PDF]
Two proteases (PRT1 and PRT2) were fractionated from culture supernatants of wild-type Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris by cation-exchange chromatography on SP-5PW. Inhibitor experiments showed that PRT 1 was a serine protease which required calcium ions for activity or stability or both and that PRT 2 was a zinc-requiring metalloprotease.

Characterization of the hrpF Pathogenicity Peninsula of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae
The hrp gene cluster of Xanthomonas spp. contains genes for the assembly and function of a type III secretion system (TTSS). The hrpF genes reside in a region between hpaB and the right end of the hrp cluster.

Biological Role of Xanthomonadin Pigments in Xanthomonas campestris pv. Campestris [PDF]
ABSTRACT Previous studies have indicated that the yellow pigments (xanthomonadins) produced by phytopathogenic Xanthomonas bacteria are unimportant during pathogenesis but may be important for protection against photobiological damage. We used a Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris

New Culture Medium to Xanthan Production by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris [PDF]
Xanthan is a important biopolymer for commercial purpose and it is produced in two stages by Xanthomonas campestris. In the first one, the bacterium is cultivated in the complex medium enriched in nitrogen and the biomass produced is used as inoculum for the next stage in which the gum is produced in another medium.

Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris is the pathogen of black rot of cruciferous plants. The pathogenicity of the pathogen depends on the type III secretion system (T3SS) that translocates directly effector proteins into plant cells, where they play ...

Some properties of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris phage.
Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris phages (3 isolates of phage S, K and '76) were isolated from black rot diseased leaves of cabbage, cauliflower and turnip, and some of their fundamental properties were investigated. The particle of phage S was tadpole-like with a polyhedral head of about 50×60 nm and a tail of about 110×10 to 12 nm. Phages S and K

Black Rot of Broccoli Caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris [PDF]
A new bacterial disease of broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) was observed on field-grown plants in Pyungchang during 2003 and 2004. Seedling infections first appeared as a blackening along the margins of the cotyledon. Cotyledon shriveled and dropped off. Infected seedlings were stunted and yellowed and eventually died.
