ICAG‐Net: An Interactive CNN–Transformer Architecture With Attention‐Guided Gated Fusion for Crop Disease Detection

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study presents an AI‐driven approach to smart agriculture focused on early detection of crop diseases, especially fungal infections, to enhance food security. An ensemble model combining a Custom CNN for local feature extraction and a pretrained vision transformer (ViT) for global context analysis is proposed.

Extracellular proteases from Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, the black rot pathogen [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1990
Two proteases (PRT1 and PRT2) were fractionated from culture supernatants of wild-type Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris by cation-exchange chromatography on SP-5PW. Inhibitor experiments showed that PRT 1 was a serine protease which required calcium ions for activity or stability or both and that PRT 2 was a zinc-requiring metalloprotease.

A Bacterial Effector Hijacks NBR1 to Modulate Both Autophagy and Ubiquitination‐Mediated Degradation That Promotes Bacterial Infection

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 4, Page 2492-2509, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Autophagy and the ubiquitin/26S proteasome system (UPS) play critical roles in the immune defence of the host against pathogen invasion. As a countermeasure, pathogens deploy effector proteins to subvert or hijack autophagy and UPS processes.

Characterization of Filamentous Bacteriophage  Lf from Xanthomonas Campestris pv. Campestris

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1990
A filamentous phage, phi Lf, which specifically infects Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris was isolated. The phage particle measured 1,000 (+/- 200) x 8 nm. It formed turbid plaques of about 1 mm in diameter. During multiplication, the progeny virions extruded into the medium without retarding host cell growth.

Fructose phosphotransferase system of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris: characterization of the fruB gene [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiology, 1995
In the plant pathogen Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, fructose is transported by a specific phosphotransferase system (PTS). This PTS involves a multiphosphoryl transfer protein (MTP) encoded by the fruB gene, which was cloned and sequenced. fruB is part of a transcriptional unit together with the fruK gene, coding for 1-phosphofructokinase ...

Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria Effector AvrBsT Induces Cell Death in Pepper, but Suppresses Defense Responses in Tomato

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2010
A type III effector protein, AvrBsT, is secreted into plant cells from Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria Bv5-4a, which causes bacterial spot disease on pepper (Capsicum annuum) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum).

Bacillus velezensis 83 protects Arabidopsis thaliana against Botrytis cinerea by triggering JA‐, and SA‐dependent induced systemic resistance

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 2532-2540, March 2026.
B. velezensis 83 protects the plant against B. cinerea, accumulating acetoin and activating jasmonic acid‐ and salicylic acid‐mediated defense responses. Abstract BACKGROUND Modern agriculture is based on the application of synthetic agrochemicals to control multiple abiotic and biotic stresses.
