Use of N‐heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) to activate carbon and heteroatoms in aromatic compounds is reviewed based on key dearomative NHC‐bound intermediates, i.e., ortho‐quinodimethanes (o‐QDMs), ortho‐quinone methides (o‐QMs) and aza‐analogs (aza‐o‐QMs), aza‐fulvene and triaza‐diene intermediates.

Xanthomonas prunicola sp. nov., a novel pathogen that affects nectarine (Prunus persica var. nectarina) trees [PDF]
Three isolates obtained from symptomatic nectarine trees (Prunus persica var. nectarina) cultivated in Murcia, Spain, which showed yellow and mucoid colonies similar to Xanthomonas arboricola pv.

Abstract Host resistance, using qualitative genes with major effects, such as resistance (R) genes, is one of the most effective disease control strategies. However, because major gene‐derived resistance wanes over time, breeders must increasingly focus on quantitative trait loci and minor effect genes, which, when pyramided together, can confer ...

ABSTRACT Image‐based plant phenotyping involves the quantitative determination of complex plant traits using image analysis. One important parameter to assess is the degree of greenness of photosynthetic tissues, as it may reflect plant health, development, or the pigment‐depleting impact of stressful environments.

A protein expression system for tandem affinity purification in Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri
Citrus canker, caused by the Gram-negative bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xac), is one of the most devastating diseases to affect citrus crops. There is no treatment for citrus canker; effective control against the spread of Xac is usually achieved by the elimination of affected plants along with that of asymptomatic neighbors.

Genomics and transcriptomics of Xanthomonas campestris species challenge the concept of core type III effectome [PDF]
The bacterial species Xanthomonas campestris infects a wide range of Brassicaceae. Specific pathovars of this species cause black rot (pv. campestris), bacterial blight of stock (pv. incanae) or bacterial leaf spot (pv. raphani).

The Citrus sinensis LATERAL ORGAN BOUNDERIES 1 (CsLOB1) gene, which is directly induced by the Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri effector PthA4, functions as a transcription factor and citrus canker susceptibility (S) gene. Genome editing of CsLOB1 has been

The LOV Protein of Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri Plays a Significant Role in the Counteraction of Plant Immune Responses during Citrus Canker [PDF]
Pathogens interaction with a host plant starts a set of immune responses that result in complex changes in gene expression and plant physiology. Light is an important modulator of plant defense response and recent studies have evidenced the novel ...
