A study on the relationship between irregularity and hairiness of spun yarns
In this study, Photoshop software was used to do image analysis on the photos of spun yarns. The result showed that yarn could be divided into two parts: the surface hairs and the stem.

A controlled experiment on yarn hairiness and fabric pilling
This study focused on the hairiness of worsted wool yarns and how it affects the pilling propensity of knitted wool fabrics. Conventional worsted ring spun yarns were compared with comparable SolospunTM yarns and yarns modified with a hairiness reducing ...

Study on Sirospunning System to Reduce the Hairiness of Yarn
The twisting process of Sirospunning and Ringspunning was compared and analyzed as to the phenomenon that Sirospunning decreases yarn hairiness. It can be obtained from the analysis of geometrical model that more hairiness is twisted into the yarns and the amount of apparent hairiness is reduced through its special twisting.

Effect of yarn hairiness on energy consumption in rotating a ring-spun yarn package
The effect of yarn hairiness on energy consumption when rotating a ring-spun yarn package is investigated theoretically and experimentally. A theoretical model is developed to calculate the energy required to rotate hair fibers, based on hair length and ...

Yarn hairiness controlled by modified yarn path in cotton ring spinning
295-301The influence of yarn path on spinning triangle and, in turn, on yarn hairiness has been studied. The yarns have been produced from cotton (40s Mali -juli and 60s MCU5) and 45s polyester/cotton Recron/MCU5, 67 :33) by varying the yurn path in

Studies on spectrum density analysis of yarn hairiness variations
92-96An attempt has been made to extend the application of spectrum analyser to the textile field for the first time for tracing the yarn hairiness spectrogram from the output signals of Shirley hairiness meter, using 11 yarn samples widely differing ...

The effect of spinning method on yarn hairiness on worsted yarns
