Comparison of observers for vehicle yaw rate estimation

2018 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2018
This paper presents a comparison of observers for vehicle lateral dynamics. Three model-based observers are compared: firstly Luenberger observer with a linear stationary model, secondly Kalman filter with a non stationary model and lastly Luenberger observers for each subsystems of a Takagi-Sugeno multi-model.

Parameter optimization of PID class of yaw rate controllers

UKACC International Conference on CONTROL 2010, 2010
The paper presents parameter optimization of a PID class of vehicle yaw rate controllers based on a linearized "bicycle"-type vehicle dynamics model. Two complementary optimization techniques are used: (i) analytical design based on the damping optimum criterion, and (ii) numerical parameter optimization.

An improved active suspension yaw rate control

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2002
The authors previously (2002) gave an insight into the full vehicle suspension model. They proposed a truly decoupled model for the full vehicle suspension consisting of 4 subsystems. The first 3 ones are completely decoupled single input single output systems. They are analogous to, and may be seen as virtual, quarter car suspension models. The fourth

Fault Tolerant Control for Hexacopter with Reducing Yaw Rate

2019 4th Conference on Control and Fault Tolerant Systems (SysTol), 2019
This paper considers the active fault tolerant control (FTC) for hexacopter to handle disturbance torque in yaw under a total fault in one rotor. The proposed approach is based on the reconfiguration of remaining rotors. As the system is no longer controllable in all six degrees of freedom (DOF), one dimension should be abandoned.

Yaw rate and linear velocity stabilized manual wheelchair

2013 35th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2013
We present the development of a prototype novel low-power, inexpensive stability control system for manual wheelchairs. Manual wheelchairs, while providing the ability to maneuver in relatively small indoor spaces, have a high center of gravity making them prone to tipping.

Vehicle yaw rate control using tyre force measurements

2015 European Control Conference (ECC), 2015
Controlling vehicle yaw rate is crucial for vehicle safety. In this work, a novel computationally inexpensive yaw rate controller using tyre force measurements is proposed. Most of the yaw rate controllers use a tyre model that introduces modeling error because of the tyre model nonlinearities and uncertainties.

A CMOS compatible micromachined yaw-rate sensor

IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics. Proceedings. ISIE'98 (Cat. No.98TH8357), 2002
We introduce a silicon yaw-rate sensor that can be manufactured using CMOS processing and micromachining. The basic device is a movable-gate-field-effect transistor. The gate structure is released by chemical etching and resonated in the plane of the substrate using Lorentz forces exerted on it when current is passed through the gate in the presence of
