Control oriented modeling for enhanced yaw stability and vehicle steerability
Proceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004Emerging drivetrains open new possibilities in vehicle stability control. In this paper, we consider a vehicle powered by four independently driven wheel motors, one for each wheel, with steer-by-wire. We explore the possibilities of using steering and individual wheel acceleration on top of braking to enhance stability and steerability.

GA-based sliding mode controller for yaw stability improvement
2013 9th Asian Control Conference (ASCC), 2013The vehicle handling and stability can be enhanced with direct yaw moment control (DYC). In this paper, a sliding mode controller (SMC) with genetic algorithm optimization is proposed for the yaw moment control. A single track vehicle model with nonlinear tire forces is utilized for the controller design. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is

Yaw stabilization of landing craft
2012The purpose of this work was to investigate the application of pump jet propulsion and yaw angle stabilization for a landing craft going through the surf. Linear theory was used throughout the analysis of the control problem. The stability indices and derivatives were determined in part by experiment and the remainder by analytic techniques.

Yaw stability control of commercial vehicle based on variable stability region
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering ScienceYaw stability is a core issue in commercial vehicle(CV) driving safety, especially in the emergencies and extreme conditions. This study aims to address it with the concept of variable stability region (VSR) in dynamic and unpredictable conditions. The critical boundary of yaw stability is analyzed through the Routh-Hurwitz criterion with the impact of
