From Covalent Traps to Fluorescent Beacons: The Expanding Arsenal of Chemical Probes for Studying Ubiquitin and Ubiquitin‐Like Proteins

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A large variety of chemistry‐based ubiquitin probes have been developed. ABSTRACT Ubiquitin (Ub) and ubiquitin‐like proteins (Ubls) orchestrate diverse cellular processes through reversible post‐translational modification of target proteins. Their conjugation is governed by a cascade of E1 activating, E2 conjugating, and E3 ligating enzymes, while ...

A rational strategy to optimize photodrugs by Molecular Dynamics simulations for killing drug‐resistant Gram‐negative bacteria

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Antimicrobial resistance has become a major threat to human health, particularly for Gram‐negative bacteria such as Acinetobacter baumannii and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Disruption of membrane integrity is regarded as a promising antimicrobial strategy that does not induce distinct drug resistance, while increasing the internalization of drug ...

CAUIM: Amazonian Cassava‐Based Programmable Biocolloid

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Bridging indigenous heritage and computation, this work introduces the usage of cauim, a traditional Amazonian cassava fermented beverage, as a programmable memristive‐like substrate and resistance switching. The material exhibits frequency‐dependent dynamics enabling reconfigurable Boolean logic operations.
