Primary intrarenal yolk sac tumor
Extragonadal germ cell tumors (EGGCTs) usually are not coexistent with a gonadal tumor, hence in a way, are primary and are rare. The origin of primary EGGCT is still a matter of debate. Herewith, we report a patient with primary intrarenal yolk sac tumor in a 43-year-old man.

Autonomous murine T-cell progenitor production in the extra-embryonic yolk sac before HSC emergence.
The extra-embryonic yolk sac (YS) is the first hematopoietic site in the mouse embryo and is thought to generate only primitive erythroid and myeloerythroid progenitor cells before definitive HSC emergence within the embryo on E10.5.

Abstract Background Mouse nodal immotile cilia mechanically sense the bending direction for left–right (L–R) determination and activate the left‐side‐specific signaling cascade, leading to increased Nodal activity. Asymmetric distribution of Pkd2, a crucial channel for L–R determination, on immotile cilia has been reported recently. However, the causal

Abstract Breaking radial symmetry for anterior–posterior axis formation is one of the key developmental steps of vertebrate gastrulation and is established through a succession of transient domains defined by morphology or gene expression. Three such domains were interpreted recently in the rabbit to be part of a “three‐anchor‐point model” for axis ...

Abstract Plankton play a key role in marine food webs by producing and transferring organic matter and energy to higher trophic levels. To define the trophic structure and interactions within the planktonic communities in the Gulf of Naples, we determined carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios in particulate organic matter (POM, <20 μm ...

Abstract There is increasing concern regarding pollutants disrupting the vertebrate thyroid hormone (TH) system, which is crucial for development. Thus, identification of TH system–disrupting chemicals (THSDCs) is an important requirement in the Organisation for Economic Co‐operation and Development (OECD) testing framework.

Multiple sclerosis involves chronic CNS inflammation and neurodegeneration. This review highlights glial cells as key drivers in progressive MS, focusing on lesion pathology, molecular dysfunction, and human‐relevant model systems. ABSTRACT Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common non‐infectious inflammatory CNS disease, characterized by progressive ...
