On proximal mappings with Young functions in uniformly convex Banach spaces

open access: yes, 2017
It is well known in convex analysis that proximal mappings on Hilbert spaces are $1$-Lipschitz. In the present paper we show that proximal mappings on uniformly convex Banach spaces are uniformly continuous on bounded sets.

Functional state in young wrestlers

open access: yes, 2023
Actuality. The modern stage of sports science is characterized by the development of studies of adaptation processes in athletes during intensive physical and emotional competitive activity. The main problems in sports training are the control of functional state of athletes. Modern young sport characterized of healthy and sport orientations.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders in Young Military Men

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2015
To estimate the prevalence and evaluate the associated psychological factors of functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) in males in their twenties who are currently enrolled in military service.A total of 1,073 men in the Korean army were asked to complete questionnaires based on the Rome III criteria and Symptom Checklist-90-revised (SCL-90R ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Decreased sexual function in a young man [PDF]

open access: yesPostgraduate Medical Journal, 2001
Abstract A 36 year old professional man presented with an 18 month history of difficulty in achieving and maintaining an erection. He also described “lack of sex drive”, malaise, and non-specific ill health over several months. He was sometimes able to masturbate successfully but commented that his ejaculate was of small volume. Physical

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Exploring the relationship between physical activity and cognitive function: an fMRI pilot study in young and older adults

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundThere are limited studies exploring the relationship between physical activity (PA), cognitive function, and the brain processing characteristics in healthy older adults.MethodsA total of 41 participants (42.7 ± 20.5 years, 56.1% males) were ...

A study of sympathetic autonomic function in different phases of menstrual cycle among young adult females

open access: yesNational Journal of Physiology, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 2019
Background: Menstrual cycle involves three phases: Menstrual, follicular, and luteal which are regulated by the sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone from the ovary, and also by the gonadotropins – leutinizing and follicle-stimulating hormone from the ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
