Planets In Young Massive Clusters: On the survivability of planets in young massive clusters and its implication of planet orbital architectures in globular clusters

open access: yes, 2019
As of August 2019, among the more than 4000 confirmed exoplanets, only one has been detected in a globular cluster (GC) M4. The scarce of exoplanet detections motivates us to employ direct $N$-body simulations to investigate the dynamical stability of planets in young massive clusters (YMCs), which are potentially the progenitors of GCs.

Janus‐Type Electrostatic Potential Gradient‐Activated Dynamic Zn2+‐Coordinating Nitrogen Sites in Molecularly Locked Nanocellulose Separators for Stable Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional benzimidazole‐terminated CNF separator is constructed via a PEI‐mediated covalent locking strategy, generating dense zincophilic sites that accelerate Zn2+ transport and desolvation while enabling uniform Zn (002) deposition and suppressing side reactions.

Flexible Unusual Ternary‐Component Graded‐Modulus Dielectric Films with High‐Density Capacitive Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hierarchical PP–LSR107–BaTiO3 nanocomposite films are fabricated by one‐step extrusion and stretching for roll‐to‐roll manufacture, combining high energy storage and processing flexibility. LSR107 surrounds BaTiO3‐rich regions, locating amorphous PP, decreasing defects, and introducing deep traps that homogenize the electric field and suppress charge ...

FEAST: JWST Uncovers the Emerging Timescales of Young Star Clusters in M83

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present JWST NIRCam observations of the emerging young star clusters (eYSCs) detected in the nearby spiral galaxy M83. The NIRcam mosaic encompasses the nuclear starburst, the bar, and the inner spiral arms.

Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Clusters, Clumps, Dust, and Gas (CCDG) in NGC 1614: Benchmarking Cluster Demographics in Extreme Systems

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Observations of young star clusters in a variety of galaxies have been used to constrain basic properties related to star formation, such as the fraction of stars found in clusters (Γ) and the shape of the cluster mass function (CMF).

Rewiring NADH Metabolism Through NQO1‐Mediated Redox Cycling for Targeted Follicular Lymphoma Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Follicular lymphoma (FL) remains an incurable B‐cell malignancy with high relapse rates, and conventional therapies are often limited by significant toxicity, highlighting the need for novel treatments. We identified that FL exhibits markedly low expression of NAD(P)H: quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1), a key enzyme required for activating ...

Very-high-energy γ-Ray Emission from Young Massive Star Clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The Tarantula Nebula in the Large Magellanic Cloud is known for its high star formation activity. At its center lies the young massive star cluster R136, providing a significant amount of the energy that makes the nebula shine so brightly at many ...

Fragmentation of young massive clusters in binary components: an application of Griddy Gibbs Sampler

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
The study of the process of hierarchical fragmentation of molecular clouds within Young Massive Clusters required modeling the Initial Mass Function by considering both binary and single-star components.

Young Massive Clusters in the Galactic Center

open access: yes, 2004
The three young clusters in the Galactic Center represent the closest examples of massive starbursts and they define the upper mass limit of the Galactic cluster mass functions. In this review, I describe the characteristics and content of the Arches, Quintuplet, and Central clusters. They each are more massive than any other cluster in the Galaxy, and
