Dose-response for yttrium-90 resin microsphere radioembolisation
Nuclear Medicine Communications, 2020The fundamental premise of yttrium-90 radioembolisation is to balance safety with efficacy. To achieve this, dose-response guidance must be provided. This is a tabulation of published data of key dose-response metrics for yttrium-90 resin microsphere radioembolisation of liver malignancies.

Embolization of Dog Prostates With Yttrium-90 Microspheres
Journal of Urology, 1963Experiments exploring means for the protection of adjacent normal tissue while delivering a destructive dose of radiation to malignant tissue were conducted. By injection of radioactive ceramic spheres or particles, too large to pass through capillaries or arteriovenous shunts, relatively high doses of radiation can be distributed homogeneously to a ...

Scanning Bremsstrahlung of Yttrium-90 Microspheres Injected Intra-arterially
Radiology, 1967Scanning internally deposited beta particle emitters which have been administered in therapeutic doses has useful clinical application. The procedure of scanning is generally used to detect and map the distribution of gamma-emitting internally deposited isotopes.

Radioembolization of colorectal hepatic metastases using yttrium‐90 microspheres
Cancer, 2009AbstractBACKGROUND:The objective of the current study was to determine the safety and efficacy of Yttrium‐90 (Y90) microsphere treatment in patients with liver‐dominant colorectal metastases.METHODS:Seventy‐two patients with unresectable hepatic colorectal metastases were treated at a targeted absorbed dose of 120 Gray (Gy).

Safety of Yttrium-90 Microsphere Radioembolization in Patients with Biliary Obstruction
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, 2010There are few data on radioembolization in the setting of biliary obstruction. The present study was performed to assess the safety of yttrium-90 ((90)Y) radioembolization in the setting of tumor-related biliary obstruction and total bilirubin levels of 2 mg/dL or lower.Twelve patients with liver tumors underwent 19 treatment sessions with (90)Y to the

Yttrium-90 Microspheres for Other Liver Metastases
2013Radioembolization (RE) is a form of brachytherapy in which intraarterially injected microspheres loaded with 90Y (a pure beta emitter with a 2.6-day half-life and an average 2.5-mm tissue penetration) serve as sources for internal radiation purposes. Its aim is to deliver tumoricidal doses of radiation to no matter how many liver tumors at a time while

Yttrium-90 radioembolization using MIRD dosimetry with resin microspheres
European Radiology, 2020To review the technical feasibility of resin microsphere (SIR-Spheres®) yttrium-90 radioembolization prescribed using the medical internal radiation dose (MIRD) model. All radioembolization procedures for hepatic malignancies using resin microspheres with MIRD model between November 2015 and February 2019 were included in this IRB-approved study (n = 60)

Glass yttrium-90 microspheres for patients with colorectal liver metastases
Radiotherapy and Oncology, 1992Total calculated uniform liver doses of up to 150 Gy were achieved using glass yttrium-90 microspheres administered via the hepatic artery and targeted to tumour using angiotensin II in seven patients with colorectal liver metastases. No toxicity was observed. Hepatic metastatic progression was delayed in six patients.

Imaging of Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Treatment with Yttrium-90 Microspheres
American Journal of Roentgenology, 2007Yttrium-90 radioembolization is an emerging therapy for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although therapeutic response based on size has been evaluated in numerous studies, necrosis has been used as a criterion of response in only a few studies.

Same-Day Yttrium-90 Radioembolization: Feasibility with Resin Microspheres
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, 2019To evaluate the feasibility of a same-day yttrium-90 (90Y) radioembolization protocol with resin microspheres (including pretreatment angiography, lung shunt fraction [LSF] determination, and radioembolization) for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver metastases. All same-day radioembolization procedures performed over 1 y (February
