Modelling of Lattices of Two-Dimensional Quasi-Crystals
We propose the method for modelling of quasi-periodic structures based on an algorithm being a geometrical interpretation of the Fibonacci-type numerical sequences.

On zero-sum free sequences contained in random subsets of finite cyclic groups
Let $C_n$ be a cyclic group of order $n$. A sequence $S$ of length $\ell$ over $C_n$ is a sequence $S = a_1\boldsymbol\cdot a_2\boldsymbol\cdot \ldots\boldsymbol\cdot a_{\ell}$ of $\ell$ elements in $C_n$, where a repetition of elements is allowed and ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

«Future history will no longer produce ruins. It doesn’t have the time» (Augè, 2004). While for many other environmental physical phenomena we have “sensors” and organs capable of recording them, for time we do not have an organ that records, feels ...

Counting weighted zero-sum sequences with the polynomial method
The Erdos-Ginzburg-Ziv (EGZ) Theorem has an elegant proof due to Bailey and Richter that employs a 1935 result of Chevalley. Chevalleyâ s Theorem states that the number of shared zeros of a polynomial system over a finite field is not equal to one ...

CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Minimal Zero-sum Sequences of Maximum Length in the Group C3 ⊕ C3k
A sequence α in an additively written abelian group G is called a minimal zero-sum sequence if its sum is the zero element of G and none of its proper subsequences has sum zero.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Zero-sum subsequences in $\{-1, +1\}$ bounded sum sequences
In this talk, we consider problems and results that go in the opposite direction of the classical theorems in the discrepancy theory. The following statement gives a flavor of our approach. Let $t$, $k$ and $q$ be integers such that $q \ge 0$, $0 \le t <
