Polynomials with Real Zeros and Compatible Sequences

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2012
In this paper, we study polynomials with only real zeros based on the method of compatible zeros. We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the compatible property of two polynomials whose leading coefficients have opposite sign. As applications, we partially answer a question proposed by M. Chudnovsky and P. Seymour in the recent publication [

Zero‐echo‐time sequences in highly inhomogeneous fields

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine
AbstractPurposeZero‐echo‐time (ZTE) sequences have proven a powerful tool for MRI of ultrashort tissues, but they fail to produce useful images in the presence of strong field inhomogeneities (14 000 ppm). Here we seek a method to correct reconstruction artifacts from non‐Cartesian acquisitions in highly inhomogeneous , where the standard double‐shot ...

Air Pollution and the Risk and Progression of Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Air pollution has been linked to several neurological conditions, including stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. Evidence regarding its association with multiple sclerosis (MS) remains conflicting, limited by small sample sizes. Methods PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane controlled register of trials (CENTRAL) were searched on ...

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Empirical substantiation of the advantage of using the modified method of symmetrical components to estimate the value of zero-sequence current in distribution grids

open access: yesВестник Северо-Кавказского федерального университета
Introduction. The tendency of growth in the number and increase in the installed capacity of single-phase nonlinear electric consumers leads to the deterioration of power quality.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Minimal Zero Sequences of Finite Cyclic Groups

open access: yes, 2004
If G is a finite Abelian group, let MZS(G, k) denote the set of minimal zero sequences of G of length k. In this paper we investigate the structure of the elements of this set, and the cardinality of the set itself. We do this for the class of groups G = Zn for k both small (k ≤ 4) and large (k > 2n/3 )

Zero (sub-)sequences of entire functions

open access: yes, 2015
We announce conditions under which a given sequence of points on the complex plane is a subsequence of zeros of an entire function with weight restrictions on growth.
