Constraining Stellar Rotation at the Zero-age Main Sequence with TESS [PDF]

open access: yes
The zero-age main sequence (ZAMS) is a critical phase for stellar angular momentum evolution, as stars transition from contraction-dominated spin-up to magnetic wind-dominated spin-down.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Uncertain Zero-One Law and Convergence of Uncertain Sequence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper is concerned with situations in which the uncertain measure of an event can only be zero or one, and the uncertain zero-one laws are derived within the framework of uncertainty theory that can be seen as the counterpart of Kolmogorov zero-one ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

TΩ-sequences in abelian groups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2000
A sequence in an abelian group is called a T-sequence if there exists a Hausdorff group topology in which the sequence converges to zero. This paper describes the fundamental system for the finest group topology in which this sequence converges to zero ...

On the zeros of certain Sheffer sequences and their cognate sequences

open access: yes, 2023
Given a Sheffer sequence of polynomials, we introduce the notion of an associated sequence called the cognate sequence. We study the relationship between the zeros of this pair of associated sequences and show that in case of an Appell sequence, as well as a more general family of Sheffer sequences, the zeros of the members of each sequence (for large ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Research on Circulating Current Suppression Control of Parallel Inverters

open access: yesEnergies
Circulating current suppression can effectively improve the reliability and redundancy of parallel inverter systems. The mechanism and influencing factors of the low- and high-frequency zero-sequence circulating current (ZSCC) are analyzed in this study.

Zero-Sequence Current Suppression for Open-Winding Permanent Magnet Brushless Motor Driving System Based on Second Order Generalized Integrator

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The open-winding driving system can improve power density and torque output capacity of the motor. However, the open-winding topology with a common direct current (DC) power supply provides a path for the zero-sequence current, which contributes to the ...

Zero sequence impedance behavior inpower transformers. Analysis of special cases

open access: yesRevista Científica de Ingeniería Energética
Sequence networks make it possible to represent the elements of an electrical network during unbalanced faults, according to Fortescue's theorem presented in 1918.
