Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Reliability Improvement Strategy for Transformer Zero-Sequence Differential Protection Based on Zero-Sequence Current Amplitude Difference Characteristics

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
The zero-sequence differential protection of transformer may cause the reliability to decrease or even malfunction due to the fault of current transformer (CT) when dealing with complex inrush current and fault.

Zero-sequence Current Suppressing Strategy for Dual Three-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines Connected with Single Neutral Point

open access: yesCES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2022
Dual three-phase permanent-magnet synchronous machines (DTP-PMSM) connected with a single neutral point provide a loop for zero-sequence current (ZSC). This paper proposes a novel space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) strategy to suppress the ZSC ...

New Constructions of Zero-Correlation Zone Sequences [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2013
In this paper, we propose three classes of systematic approaches for constructing zero correlation zone (ZCZ) sequence families. In most cases, these approaches are capable of generating sequence families that achieve the upper bounds on the family size ($K$) and the ZCZ width ($T$) for a given sequence period ($N$).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Sequence-current control strategies for transformerless voltage-source converters in islanded grids of AC/DC distribution system under asymmetrical ground faults

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Islanded grids play a crucial role in AC/DC distribution systems. The adoption of transformerless voltage-source converters as the primary power source is an important development direction for AC/DC distribution systems.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Zeros of linear recurrence sequences [PDF]

open access: yesmanuscripta mathematica, 1999
Let \(f(x)= P_0(x) \alpha_0^x+\cdots+ P_k(x) \alpha_k^x\) be an exponential polynomial over a field \(\mathbb{K}\) of zero characteristic. For \(i=0,\dots, k\), \(0\neq P_i\in \mathbb{K}[x]\) and \(0\neq \alpha_i\in \mathbb{K}\) such that for each pair \((i,j)\) with \(i\neq j\), \(\alpha_i/ \alpha_j\) is not a root of unity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
