Assimilating UAV-based GNSS ZTDs for Numerical Weather Predictions

In recent decades, various studies have demonstrated that assimilating tropospheric parameters from ground-based GNSS receivers benefits numerical weather predictions (NWPs). However, the achieved performance is limited by the spatial resolution of GNSS, especially in the vertical direction.

High accuracy tropospheric products play a key role in precise positioning. The parameters, such as Zenith Tropospheric Delay (ZTD), pressure and temperature, are obtained by troposphere models. However, height corrections should be considered for the parameters since troposphere models are produced for specific grid or model heights.
