Unveiling the Impact of Digitized Supply Chains on Reducing Food Loss and Waste: A Multiple Case Study of Italian Agri‐Food Firms

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Food loss and waste (FLW) within agri‐food supply chains significantly impact the consumer economy, depleting natural resources and contributing to greenhouse gas emissions, thereby posing a critical challenge to sustainable development. Digital transformation is increasingly recognised as a key lever for reducing FLW in agri‐food supply ...

Inference on state occupancy in covariate‐driven hidden Markov models

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Hidden Markov models (HMMs) are natural and popular tools for analysing animal behaviour based on movement, acceleration and other sensor data. In particular, these models make it possible to infer how the animal's decision‐making process interacts with internal and external drivers by relating the probabilities of switching between distinct ...

Anastrepha grandis: Distribution, Host Plants, and Management—A Review

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
This graphic summary illustrates the databases and languages used in the bibliographic search for the review of the geographic distribution of Anastrepha grandis (Diptera: Tephritidae) in the Americas and different regions of Brazil, the main host plants of the Cucurbitaceae family, the management strategies used, and the main challenges related to the

Diets, fruit and vegetables consumption, and nutritional status in Benin: A scoping review

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, EarlyView.
This scoping review summarised existing literature on diets, fruit and vegetable intake, and nutritional status in Benin. Key knowledge gaps were on the prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies and differences in fruit and vegetable intake by geographical and socioeconomic characteristics.

Plants sensitivity on nickel under different conditions of iron or calcium concentration in the nutrient medium

open access: yesActa Agrobotanica, 2013
The sensitivity of six vegetable plants on nickel at early stages of their growth was investigated by index of tolerance. Besides the possibility of nickel fitostabilization by additional application of iron or calcium was tested.

Advanced Posterior Analyses of Hidden Markov Models: Finite Markov Chain Imbedding and Hybrid Decoding

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Two major tasks in applications of hidden Markov models are to (i) compute distributions of summary statistics of the hidden state sequence, and (ii) decode the hidden state sequence. We describe finite Markov chain imbedding (FMCI) and hybrid decoding to solve each of these two tasks.

Behavioral responses of black bears to human presence and infrastructure in Yosemite National Park

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 6, August 2026.
Using GPS collar data from black bears in Yosemite National Park, we examined how bear spatiotemporal activity in relation to human development shifted during the COVID‐19 park closure in 2020. In the absence of visitors, bears maintained consistent landscape‐scale space use but altered fine‐scale spatial and temporal behaviors.
