Effects of RRR-α-Tocopherol on Leukocyte Expression of HSP72 in Response to Exhaustive Treadmill Exercise

International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2002
Previous research revealed an increased expression of HSP72 in leukocytes after vigorous endurance exercise. We questioned whether more intensive but shorter exercise also induces leukocyte HSP72 synthesis. To delineate the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in exercise-related HSP72 induction, we additionally examined the effect of RRR-alpha ...

A case of erythropoietic protoporphyria with liver cirrhosis suggesting a therapeutic value of supplementation with α-tocopherol

Hepatology Research, 2000
Erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP) was diagnosed in a 27-year-old man based on a typical clinical history, and a marked increase in erythrocyte and fecal protoporphyrin concentrations. Although liver disease is not a common feature in EPP, he had slight liver dysfunction.

Clinicopathological Report of Retinitis Pigmentosa with Vitamin E Deficiency Caused by Mutation of the α-Tocopherol Transfer Protein Gene

Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2001
To discuss the clinicopathological findings in a patient with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) accompanied by a vitamin E deficiency caused by an H101Q mutation in the alpha-tocopherol transfer protein (alpha-TTP) gene. The clinical course of this patient was followed by conventional ophthalmological examinations over a 3-year period.

Comparison of whey protein particles and emulsions for the encapsulation and protection of α-tocopherol

Journal of Food Engineering, 2019
Food proteins have been widely used for the preparation of emulsion-based carriers and lipid-free carriers. In this study, whey protein isolate (WPI)-α-tocopherol particles and emulsions were prepared at protein's concentrations from 0.5% to 5.0% and ...

Characterization of Onosma bracteosum Hausskn. & Bornm. and Onosma thracicum Velen. Based on Fatty Acid Compositions and α-Tocopherol Contents of the Seed Oils

2010
Turkey is one of the important centres of origin for genus Onosma (Boraginaceae) with about 95 species including 48 endemics (ca.50%). A very limited number of investigations for fatty acid patterns and α-tocopherol contents of the seed oils were reported in this genus.
