Emerging applications of large language models in ecology and conservation science

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) mark a major development in artificial intelligence, with potentially transformative implications for ecology and conservation science. Built on advanced deep‐learning architectures, these models can support a wide range of tasks. We reviewed emerging applications of LLMs, drawing on the wider scientific literature

Structured decision‐making as a framework to incorporate social equity into conservation decisions

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Many conservation challenges require negotiating trade‐offs between the needs of different actors. Global frameworks such as the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework explicitly call for diverse participation and social equity in conservation decision‐making.

Synergistic Grain Refinement and Crystal Plane Reconstruction via Shot‐Peening for Highly Reversible Zn Anodes

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aqueous Zn‐ion batteries (AZIBs) are expected to become one of the most promising candidates for large‐scale energy storage, but are impeded by uncontrollable dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. In this study, we propose a simple mechanical shot‐peening (SP) approach for restructuring commercial Zn foils into highly exposed (002)‐textured

Lignin‐Derived Carbon Quantum Dots as Hole‐Trapping Promoters in LCDs/Bi‐MOF/ZIS With S‐Scheme Heterojunction for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Peroxide Production in Pure Water

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Photocatalytic hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production from water and oxygen driven by solar energy represents a highly promising green and sustainable strategy. Herein, lignin‐derived carbon quantum dots (LCDs) were strategically introduced at the heterojunction between a Bi‐based metal organic framework (Bi‐MOF) and ZnIn2S4 (ZIS).

Toward a Concept of ASEAN Autonomy: Actors, Entities, and Regional Space

open access: yesAsian Politics &Policy, Volume 18, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Widely discussed across disciplines, autonomy is often used in ASEAN studies to describe what actors associated with ASEAN seek. Yet its meaning remains underspecified and differs from dominant approaches of international organization autonomy.

Role of funders in embedding tests in conservation practice

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Effective conservation practice requires decisions based on reliable and relevant evidence, but significant gaps in the evidence base exist. Incorporating well‐designed tests of the effectiveness of interventions for biodiversity in conservation projects is one of the best ways to scale up the rate of evidence generation.

Green Hydrogen in Brazilian Media: Dominant Narratives and Missing Dimensions of the Energy Trilemma

open access: yesPolitics &Policy, Volume 54, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Media discourses help shape the visibility and legitimacy of energy transition pathways in the public sphere. This study examines how Brazilian mainstream newspapers framed green hydrogen and assesses the alignment of these narratives with the energy trilemma: energy security, environmental sustainability, and social accessibility. We analyzed

Liquid/Solid EGaIn@Ag Heterostructure Catalyst Enabling CO2 Electroreduction to CO in a Three‐Membrane Electrolyzer With Co‐Production of K2CO3 and Cl2

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) powered by renewable electricity offers a sustainable route for producing value‐added carbonaceous chemicals. Herein, a three‐membrane electrolyzer was employed to directly co‐generate carbon monoxide (CO), chlorine (Cl2), and potassium carbonate (K2CO3) from the electrolysis of CO2 and

侵蚀性风化花岗岩坡地降雨产流及水文过程研究

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2018

In Situ Engineering an S‐Scheme MnS/MnB‐MBene Heterojunction With Spatially Separated Redox Sites for Efficient H2 Evolution and 5‐HMF Oxidation

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Photocatalytic H2 evolution coupled with biomass upgrading offers a sustainable route for clean energy conversion and high‐value chemical synthesis. Herein, an in situ grown S‐scheme MnS/MnB‐MBene heterojunction (denoted as SMx) was fabricated via alkaline etching of Mn2AlB2 followed by controlled sulfurization.
