Hotspots of zoonotic disease risk from wildlife hunting and trade in the tropics 野生动物狩猎和贸易引发人畜共患病风险的热带热点地区

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, Volume 2, Issue 4, Page 165-175, December 2023., 2023
There is a lack of knowledge of which species and areas have a high risk of zoonotic disease spillover due to wildlife hunting and trade. We combined maps of hunting pressure, recent data sets on human‐shared pathogens, and trade volumes for 614 mammalian host species to map zoonotic disease risk from wildlife hunting and trade pantropically.

A mathematical model of Plasmodium falciparum transmission incorporating drug resistance: Simulations of the Solomon Islands situation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The Solomon Islands are known as a high endemic region of malaria. The resistance of Plasmodium falciparum to chloroquine has been confirmed since 1980 in the Solomon Islands, and the spread of chloroquine resistance is a big hurdle to malaria control ...

Mathematical analysis of virus infectious diseases by ordinary differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Some mathematical models describing interaction of virus and cells in vivo are reviewed. Similar models using systems of ordinary differential equations can be used for the analysis of dynamics of virus and cells for different kinds of virus.

Morphological and Molecular Characterization of Eimeria saudiensis From Arabian Oryx (Oryx leucoryx) Held in Captivity in the Sultanate of Oman 阿曼苏丹国圈养阿拉伯羚羊 (Oryx leucoryx) 体内沙特艾美球虫 (Eimeria saudiensis) 的形态学与分子特征

open access: yesWildlife Letters, EarlyView.
Eimeria saudiensis represents a genus of apicomplexan parasites capable of inducing coccidiosis in Arabian oryx. Our research concentrated on the morphological and molecular investigation of Eimeria spp. in the captive oryx herd in Oman. The therapeutic and management practices employed at the Mammals Breeding Center were reassessed to diminish ...

Cost of parasite exposure depends on host ontogeny 寄生接觸的代價依賴於宿主發育階段

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 592-603, June 2026.
The cost of parasite exposure varies across host developmental stages, demonstrating that ontogeny influences the expression of non‐consumptive effects (NCEs). Mite exposure resulted in consumptive effects in fly eggs and NCEs in early‐stage pupae; mite longevity was comparable when provisioned with pupae or water but increased when provisioned with ...
