Fatty Acid Oxidation in Zebrafish Adipose Tissue Is Promoted by 1α,25(OH)2D3

open access: yesCell Reports, 2017
1α,25(OH)2D3 (vitamin D3) is crucial for mineral homeostasis in mammals, but the precise effects of 1α,25(OH)2D3 in adipose tissue remain to be clarified in vivo. The initial 25-hydroxylation is catalyzed by liver microsomal cytochrome P450 2R1 (CYP2R1),

Down-regulation of COX-2 activity by 1α,25(OH)2D3 is VDR dependent in endothelial cells transformed by Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus G protein-coupled receptor

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
Our previous reports showed that 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1α,25(OH)2D3) has antiproliferative actions in endothelial cells stably expressing viral G protein-coupled receptor (vGPCR) associated with the pathogenesis of Kaposi's sarcoma.

Adaptive Supramolecular Interactions Govern Redox‐Active Molecules in Aqueous Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Adaptive supramolecular interactions overcome the solubility‐stability trade‐off in aqueous redox flow batteries. Hydrophobic anions disrupt intrinsic π–π stacking to enable high solubility, while redox‐state‐dependent spin pairing and cation coordination dynamically stabilize reactive intermediates during operation.

EFFECT OF 1α-HYDROXYCHOLECALCIFEROL(1α-OH D3)ON HYPOCALCEMIA FOLLOWING PARATHYROID SURGERY [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A synthetic analogue of active form of Vita mine D (1α-OH D3) was administered to three patients with hypocalcemia following parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism and its effect on hypocalcemic and hyperphosphatemic states was discussed ...

Helicity‐Dependent All‐Optical Switching in Bi,Ga‐Substituted Rare‐Earth Iron Garnet Films Driven by Orbital Magnetic Moment

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐dependent all‐optical magnetization switching was demonstrated for the Bi‐ and Ga‐substituted rare‐earth (R) iron garnet crystal thin films (Bi,Ga:RIG; R = Eu3+, Nd3+, and Y3+). The efficiency followed the order EIG > NIG > YIG. These results show the correlation between 4f orbital moment (4f〈L〉) of R3+ and helicity‐dependent optical ...

Effect of 1α,25(OH)2 vitamin D3 in mutant P53 glioblastoma cells: Involvement of neutral sphingomyelinase1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Glioblastoma is one the most aggressive primary brain tumors in adults, and, despite the fact that radiation and chemotherapy after surgical approaches have been the treatments increasing the survival rates, the prognosis of patients remains poor. Today,

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...

1α,25(OH)2D3 Radiosensitizes Cancer Cells by Activating the NADPH/ROS Pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
The radioresistance of tumors affect the outcome of radiotherapy. Accumulating data suggest that 1α,25(OH)2D3 is a potential anti-oncogenic molecule in various cancers.
