Intravaginal microbial flora by the 16S rRNA gene sequencing

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2011
Conventional diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis contains some controversial points. To understand accurately the relationship between clinical stages and the microbiotas, the intravaginal microbial flora was analyzed by the clone library method.Vaginal fluid samples from 31 patients were examined. Lactobacillary grade, Nugent score, culture-based method,

16S rRNA sequencing in chronic dacryocystitis

Clinical and Experimental Optometry
The pathogenesis of chronic dacryocystitis (CDC) is associated with a variety of bacteria. Investigating microflora has the potential to provide a theoretical basis for preventing and treating CDC.16S rRNA sequencing is a sequence-based bacterial analysis. The application of 16S rRNA sequencing in CDC is rarely reported.A case-control study of infected

16S rRNA Amplicon Sequencing for Metagenomics

2018
The 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing technique is a microbiome analysis where different samples are analyzed at the same time using multiplexing. The results can be used to evaluate microbial diversity at genus, family, order, class, and phylum levels. The resolution is normally insufficient to evaluate the species level.

The Sequence of 16S rRNA From Mycoplasma Strain PG50

DNA, 1985
The DNA sequence of one of the 16S rRNA genes (cistron rrnA) of Mycoplasma strain PG50 was determined. It is 1523 bp long and has about 70% homology to the sequence of Escherichia coli 16S rRNA (rrnB). The G + C content of the sequence is 48% compared with 56% G + C in the E. coli sequence.

Instruction of microbiome taxonomic profiling based on 16S rRNA sequencing

Journal of Microbiology, 2020
Recent studies on microbiome highlighted their importance in various environments including human, where they are involved in multiple biological contexts such as immune mechanism, drug response, and metabolism. The rapid increase of new findings in microbiome research is partly due to the technological advances in microbiome identification, including ...

Targeted 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing for Water Samples

The choice of variable region to amplify in 16S rRNA-targeted amplicon sequencing has long been a matter of debate. Here, we describe a method for sequencing multiple variable regions with the Ion 16S Metagenomics kit, which amplifies six different amplicons covering seven 16S variable regions.

A procedure for the preparation of rRNA from Legionellaceae for use in 16S-rRNA sequencing

Journal of Microbiological Methods, 1990
Abstract rRNA-sequence comparison has become a commonly used method in bacterial taxonomy. To obtain intact rRNA from legioneallae for use in sequencing a simple enzymatic procedure was developed with requires no specialized equipment for release of RNA and no ultracentrifugation for its isolation. RNase inhibitors were included at each step to avoid
