Harnessing Trace Elements: Novel Radiosensitization Strategies for Enhanced Cancer Radiotherapy

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Radiotherapy (RT) is one of the core methods of comprehensive cancer treatment. Globally, more than 40% of cancer patients rely on radiotherapy to achieve tumor control, cure or palliative relief. However, radiation resistance, immunosuppression and normal tissue injury limit its clinical application.

A hierarchically zeolite Y for the N-heterocyclic compounds synthesis

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2019
High activity and selectivity of the hierarchical H-Ymmm zeolite in the synthesis of practically important pyridines (by interaction of C2–C4 alcohols with formaldehyde and ammonia, cyclocondensation of acetaldehyde and propanal with ammonia), dialkyl ...

Crystal Engineering of Reticular Materials for Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrocarbon Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
Crystal engineering enables systematic study of structure/function relationships as exemplified by pore engineering of reticular sorbents, including porous coordination networks and covalent organic frameworks. This review assesses such studies applied across the full scope of industrially relevant hydrocarbon separations to provide insight into how ...

Copper‐Catalyzed Markovnikov Hydroboration of Alkenes via Hydrogen Atom Transfer (MHAT)

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 3, 3 February 2026.
The copper‐catalyzed Markovnikov hydroboration of alkenes is disclosed. Remarkably, this methodology operates at mild reaction conditions and delivers high catalytic efficiency (TONs and TOFs up to 2800 and 2600 h‐1, respectively). Furthermore, this approach diverges from previous reports by relying on two subsequent hydrogen‐atom‐transfer processes ...

Degradation of 3-Methylpyridine and 3-Ethylpyridine by Gordonia nitida LE31

open access: yes, 2001
Cells of Gordonia nitida LE31 grown on 3-methylpyridine degraded 3-ethylpyridine without a lag time and vice versa. Cyclic intermediates were not detected, but formic acid was identified as a metabolite.

In vitro assessment of reproductive toxicity of cigarette smoke and deleterious consequences of maternal exposure to its constituents

open access: yesBiological Research, 2012
Cigarette smoke is known to be a serious health risk factor and considered reproductively toxic. In the current study, we investigated whether constituents of cigarette smoke, pyrazine, 2-ethylpyridine, and 3-ethylpyridine, adversely affect reproductive ...

Design, Synthesis, and Molecular Evaluation of SNAr‐Reactive N‐(6‐Fluoro‐3‐Nitropyridin‐2‐yl)Isoquinolin‐3‐Amines as Covalent USP7 Inhibitors Reveals an Unconventional Binding Mode

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 358, Issue 8, August 2025.
The ubiquitin‐specific protease 7 (USP7) catalyzes the removal of ubiquitin and protects substrate proteins from degradation. USP7 causes structural changes upon ubiquitin binding, making it particularly suitable for use in covalent targeting approaches. The development, synthesis, and biophysical screening of a series of mildly electrophilic compounds
