Inclusion complexes of sulfanilamide with beta-cyclodextrin and 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin
Sulfanilamide belongs to the group of drugs that have a bacteriostatic effect on different pathogenic microorganisms. This activity originates from the competitive antagonism with p-aminobenzoic acid, which is an integral part of folic acid. The safe use of sulfanilamide is limited due to poor solubility in the aqueous medium.

Freezability of boar spermatozoa is improved by exposure to 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin
Reproduction, Fertility and Development, 2001The influence of 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HBCD) exposure on post-thaw spermatozoa prior to freezing using acrosome integrity and the parameters of motility was studied. Acrosomal status was monitored by means of FITC-labelled peanut agglutinin, and the motility parameters were assessed using a computer-assisted sperm motility analysis (CASA ...

Characterisation of an inclusion complex between cladribine and 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin.
Journal of pharmaceutical sciences, 2008Parenterally administered cladribine (2-chloro-2'-deoxyadenosine) has demonstrated promising efficacy and safety in clinical trials in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). An oral formulation of this small molecule would be an attractive option for patients.

Use of 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin as an intrathecal drug vehicle with opioids.
The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 19922-Hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (CDEX), a seven-membered glucose pyranose structure, forms reversible inclusion complexes with the lipophilic portion of a drug molecule by noncovalent bonding. This can increase the water solubility of lipid-soluble drugs and reduce the rate of clearance of such agents from the spinal cord into the vasculature after i.

Cardiovascular Toxicology, 2015
The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HPBCD) as an antidotal treatment for the in vivo cardiovascular effects of amitriptyline poisoning. Experiments were carried out on 33 Wistar rats. To evaluate cardiovascular effects of HPBCD, rats were infused with dextrose or HPBCD.

Effects of NaCl and pH on 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin inclusion with oleanolic acid
Proceedings 2011 International Conference on Human Health and Biomedical Engineering, 2011This present work focused on the effects of NaCl and pH on 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HPCD) inclusion with oleanolic acid by phase solubility analysis. The results indicated that the solubility of oleanolic acid could be increased by NaCl, so could the acidic pH and alkaline pH.
