Binding properties of 23S,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3: An in,vivo metabolite of vitamin D3

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1982
23S,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 was isolated from the plasma of vitamin D3-toxic pigs. An ultraviolet absorbance spectrum confirmed its purity. The configuration of the 23-hydroxyl group was determined to be S by comparison of the natural product with synthetic 23R,25- and 23S,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 by high-pressure liquid chromatography.

Effects of 1α-hydroxyvitamin D3 and 24R,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 on bone remodeling

Calcified Tissue International, 1980
The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of 1 alpha-hydroxyvitamin D3 and 24R,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 on bone remodeling in dogs with osteomalacia induced by vitamin D depletion. To assess the rates of skeletal remodeling, intravital tetracycline labeling and morphometry of surface pattern were employed.

Metabolites of 1.alpha.,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in rat bile

Biochemistry, 1980
Metabolites of 1 alpha, 25-dihydroxy[3 alpha-3H]vitamin D3 in rat bile were studied. The water-soluble metabolites (77-91% of the total bile radioactivity) are predominantly acids (retained by DEAE-Sephadex chromatography) that become chloroform soluble after methylation with diazomethane.

Autoradiographic localization of 24R,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in epiphyseal cartilage

Bone, 1985
There is emerging evidence for specific binding sites and biologic action for 24,25(OH)2D3 in the epiphyseal cartilage. The present study was undertaken to identify the target cells of 24,25(OH)2D3 in the epiphyses of rat bone using an autoradiographic technique.

An efficient synthesis of 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 LC-biotin

The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2017
In recent years the apparent impact of vitamin D deficiency on human health has gained increased awareness. Consequently, the development of appropriate assays to measure the status of medicinally most relevant vitamin D metabolites in human blood, serum or relevant tissue is continuously being improved. Particularly, assaying of 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin

Stimulation of epidermal proliferation in mice with 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 and receptor-active 20-epi analogues of 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1995
The effects of 1 alpha, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1 alpha, 25-(OH)2D3) and receptor-active 20-epi vitamin D analogues (MC 1288, 20-epi-1 alpha, 25-(OH)2D3; MC 1301, 20-epi-24a-homo-26,27-dimethyl-1 alpha, 25-(OH)2D3, and KH 1060: 20-epi-22-oxa-24a-homo-26,27-dimethyl-1 alpha, 25-(OH)2D3) on epidermal proliferation in mice were studied in vivo.

Synthetic Analogs of 1α,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 and Their Biological Activity

1975
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the synthetic analogs of 1α, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 and their biological activity. Five hydroxylated metabolites of vitamin D, and one of vitamin D, have been characterized. The compound which represents the major circulating vitamin D, metabolite, is significantly more active than vitamin D, as an ...

Metabolism of 1α-hydroxyvitamin D3 to 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in perfused rat liver

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1975
Abstract The metabolism of 1α-hydroxyvitamin D3 (1α-OH-D3) was studied in rat liver perfused with [3H]-1α-OH-D3. [3H]-1α-OH-D3 was converted very rapidly to a more polar metabolite, which was identified as 1α,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D3 [1α,25-(OH)2-D3] by co-chromatography with synthetic 1α,25-(OH)2-D3 as well as by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Potentiation of immunosuppressive effects of cyclosporin A by 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3

Cellular Immunology, 1989
Both cyclosporin A (CsA) and 1 alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (vitamin D3) inhibit T-cell functions. Because CsA has a dose-related systemic toxicity, there is a need for approaches by which the dosage of CsA could be reduced while maintaining the required immunosuppression.

Fluorimetric assay of 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in human plasma

Journal of Chromatography B: Biomedical Sciences and Applications, 1997
The first fluorimetric method for assaying plasma 1 alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 [1,25-(OH)2D3] is described. Lipid extracts from human plasma were successively purified by a Bond Elut NH2 column and a normal-phase HPLC column, and the 1,25-(OH)2D3 fractions obtained were fluorescence-labelled with 4-[2-(6,7-dimethoxy-4-methtyl-3-oxo-3,4 ...
