Plasmons on Laterally Drifting 2DEGs
1993The plasmon modes of a two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) formed at a semiconductor heterojunction or in a quantum well have received much attention over the past few years.

Localization effects in a non-degenerate 2DEG
Surface Science, 1988Abstract We report a systematic study of localization effects in a non-degenerate two-dimensional electron gas formed on a solid hydrogen substrate. Magnetoresistance measurements in a Corbino geometry are presented as a function of surface disorder.

Improved quantization of 2DEG of p-HEMT
International Semiconductor Device Research Symposium, 2003, 2004The heterostructure potential of a tri-gate depleted mode p-HEMT was modeled for conventional and tailored field operation conditions. The set of energy levels in quantum wells under same bias on all gates were compared with parameters of p-HEMT, when the bias on the gates are varied.

Electron transport in a non-planar 2DEG
Surface Science, 1996We investigate electron transport in a spatially varying magnetic field generated by applying a uniform field to a non-planar 2DEG grown by MBE on a substrate patterned with etched facets. When a magnetic field is applied in the plane of the substrate, the resistance measured across a facet is quantised.

Energy lowering of 2DEG by strong magnetic field
Physical Review Letters, 1993We study the two-dimensional interacting electrons in a magnetic field. It is found that for systems with completely filled Landau levels, when the electron density and magnetic field are large enough, the total energy is lowered by the magnetic field.

Spectroscopy of electron–electron scattering in a 2DEG
Physics-Uspekhi, 2001Experimentally electron-beam injection and detection via quantum point-contacts is used to investigate the scattering of a non-equilibrium electron distribution in a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) of a GaAs/(Ga,Al)As heterostructure. The energy dependence of electron–electron scattering processes has been studied in a weak magnetic field by ...

Bernstein modes in grating-coupled 2DEGs
Semiconductor Science and Technology, 1996Calculations and experimental data are reported on the optical coupling to the Bernstein modes of a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in a perpendicular magnetic field using an overlaid grating coupler. The Bernstein modes are harmonics of the cyclotron resonance and are observed indirectly through their interaction with the 2DEG magnetoplasmon.

An explicit model for a quantum channel in 2DEG
Superlattices and Microstructures, 2002A two-parametric model for a channel in a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) is proposed which allows for the explicit analytical solution for the problem of quantum electron transport through the constriction. Conductance step smearing appears naturally and a simple criterion for the step occurrence in terms of channel parameters is given.

Metal/2DEG contact — a microscopic model
Surface Science, 1994Abstract A model for a metal contact to a high mobility 2DEG is considered. The model takes into account strong elastic and inelastic electron scattering in the metal and the difference in Fermi surfaces of the metal and of the 2DEG. The thermalization probability for an electron which is incident on the contact is calculated.

Detection of the oscillation of the Fermi energy of a 2DEG
Surface Science, 1996Abstract We have used a quantum antidot (QAD) to detect the oscillation of the Fermi energy in a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) as a function of magnetic field. At a magnetic field B 0 = n s h 2 ( e 2 π R 2 ) (where n s is the carrier density and R is the radius of the QAD at the Fermi energy) the Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH ...
