Reactor production of 32P for medical applications: an assessment of 32S(n,p)32P and 31P(n,γ)32P methods

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2014
The article describes a comparative study carried out on the reactor production of 32P by two different processes, namely, 32S(n,p)32P and 31P(n,γ)32P with a view to determine the merits and bottlenecks of each method and assess the usefulness of 32P obtained from each of the processes. In a typical batch, 250 g of elemental sulfur when irradiated at a

32P-labeling of bovine tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase with [32P]pyrophosphate

Molecular Biology Reports, 1981
The covalent derivative of the tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase obtained under the action of32PPi contains one mole of the covalently bound pyrophosphate (or 2 moles of orthophosphate) per mole of dimeric enzyme. Dephosphorylation with alkaline phosphatase causes practically no changes of enzymatic activity although the enzyme looses its ability to bind ...

Spectroscopy of 32P

Nuclear Physics A, 1973
Abstract Particle-gamma angular correlations have been measured with the 29 Si(α,pγ) 32 P reaction at bombarding energies E α = 10.65, 10.69 and 11.00 MeV. Together with DSA lifetime measurements these experiments lead to seven unambiguous spin assignments to levels below 3.5 MeV excitation energy in 32 P.

In vitro transfer of [32P]-label from α-[32P]-dATP into ribonucleotides

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1977
Abstract During the incorporation of α-[ 32 P]-dATP into HeLa cell nuclei some of the [ 32 P]-label enters ribonucleic acid presumably because of intracellular nucleotide turnover. This result makes the conclusion about the existence of an RNA-DNA covalent linkage, based on the transfer of [ 32 P]-label from deoxyribonucleotides to ribonucleotides ...

The labelling of human serum by 32P-DiIsopropylphosphorofluoridate (DF32P)

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1957
1. 1. On paper electrophoresis the pseudo-cholinesterase activity of human serum is localised between the α-2 and the β-peak. 2. 2. The same localisation is found after electrophoresis on starch columns. 3. 3. Thoroughly dialysed DF32P treated human sera as well as sera obtained from humans a few days after the injection of DF32P were submitted to zone

32P-therapy in polycythemia vera

Klinische Wochenschrift, 1975
A group of 52 consecutive patients with polycythemia vera was submitted to long-term therapy with radioactive phosphorus (32P). Initial phase of therapy induced complete remissions (normalization of hematogram; spleen not palpable) in 45% of the patients, and partial remissions in the remaining 55%.

Complications Associated with Intraperitoneal 32P

Gynecologic Oncology, 1994
The charts of all patients having received intraperitoneal 32P in the Indiana University Department of Radiation Oncology were retrospectively reviewed for complications and potentially related factors. Ninety-five patients had received this therapy, with a mean follow-up of 43.6 months. The majority of patients (81) had ovarian cancer.

Development of Microplate-radioluminography for 32P

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1998
Basic research for designing a microplate which can be applied to determination of 32P by radioluminography was carried out. It was proven that 32P can be determined by using the microplate which has plural planchets placed at intervals on a thin plate and a brass collimator that fills the gaps between the planchets.
