Potassium silicate treatment enhances natural disease resistance in Capsicum annuum L. and reduces anthracnose disease development

open access: yesCeylon Journal of Science, 2019
The study investigated the possibility of enhancing natural disease resistance (NDR) of chili (Capsicum annuum L.), cvs. HYW and CA8, against anthracnose disease, using potassium silicate (Kasil®) as a soil drench or postharvest spray treatment ...

Ectomycorrhizal Cortinariaceae species dominate class II peroxidase gene expression in a boreal forest soil

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 252, Issue 1, Page 400-413, October 2026.
Share of transcripts and ITS2 sequence for each gene families among identified fungal contigs and OTUs. Summary Boreal forest ecosystems constitute a large terrestrial reservoir of carbon. In these nitrogen‐limited environments, release of nutrients through decomposition of soil organic matter is of fundamental importance.

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme cellulase from the genetically modified Trichoderma reesei strain NZYM‐FS

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme cellulase (4‐(1,3; 1,4)‐β‐d‐glucan‐4‐glucanohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.4) is produced with the genetically modified Trichoderma reesei strain NZYM‐FS by Novozymes A/S. The genetic modifications did not give rise to safety concerns. The food enzyme was considered free from viable cells of the production organism and its DNA.

β-glucanase and xylanase for beef cattle on tropical pasture [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this study was to assess the impact of administering an energy-protein supplement with fibrolytic enzymes, either singly or in a blend, on the intake, digestibility, ruminal, and metabolic parameters in grazing beef cattle.

β-Glucanases in developing cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) fibres.

open access: yes, 1985
Cotton fibres possess several β-glucanase activities which appear to be associated with the cell wall, but which can be partially solubilised in buffers.

The effect of terpinen-4-ol in controlling blueberry fruit rot causing by Alternaria tenuissima

open access: yesFuture Foods
Terpinen-4-ol (T4O) is the main ingredient of tea tree essential oil with a light aroma. This study examined its inhibition on Alternaria tenuissima, and controlling effects on blueberry Alternaria fruit rot (AFR). The results demonstrated that 0.2 μL mL−
